Barranquilla police issue arrest warrants in October killing.
Police say Sebastian Velez, 36, died after a gunfight related to a drug deal.
Kevin Manotas, Jorge and Maicol Camargo Lozano of Soledad were charged with murder, armed robbery, and false imprisonment, and will be extradited to USA, according to a “Herelaldo” release.
According to police, Jorge and Maicol Camargo Lozano came to Barranquilla in early October. They brokered a drug deal through an acquaintance, whose identity police did not release. On Oct. 13, the couple kidnapped the man, holding him at gunpoint in a “Del Prado Hotel”.
After several hours, they took the man to the 40 block of Murillo Street, where they met up with Sebastian Velez. Jorge and Velez argued inside a car, then police say Jorge shot Velez.
Jorge and Lozano escaped. As they approached the 70 block of 38th Street, the kidnapping victim lowered the window and jumped out of the moving vehicle.
With the help of the “Central de Policia” polices tracked Jorge and Lozano to New York. They found a silver Toyota Camry matching the description of the getaway car in the shooting.
